Driver side carpet
Grit from work boots gets ground in under the pedals. We vacuum, brush and extract it, and scrub the heel pad area.
Steering wheel and gear knob
Oil and grease from hands are cleaned off with a degreasing cleaner that is safe on leather and plastic.
Seat fabric
Sweat and work clothes darken the seats. Stains are pre-treated, then the seats are steamed and extracted.
AC vents
Factory dust settles behind the slats. We brush and steam each vent so it stops blowing dust back at you.
Door pads
Scuff marks from boots and grease near the handles are cleaned off without scratching the plastic.
Grease marks and oil stains on seats
Oil does not come out with water alone. We loosen it first with a cleaner made for oily stains, give it a few minutes to work and then lift it out with steam and the extraction machine. Fresh marks usually come out fully. Marks that have been there for months often fade a lot but may leave a light shadow.
Leather and rexine seats are easier, because grease sits on the surface. They are cleaned with a pH-balanced cleaner, wiped down and then conditioned.
Please do not try petrol or kerosene on the seats before you come in. It spreads the stain and leaves a smell that takes much longer to remove than the oil itself.
Heat, sweat and a car that sits outside all day
A car parked in an open factory lot through May and June gets very hot inside. The seats soak up sweat on the drive home, the cabin never fully dries out, and by August a sour smell sets in. Air fresheners hang from the mirror but do not fix it.

Keep a pair of slippers or a spare mat for the drive home, so the work boots do not grind dust into the carpet. A towel over the seat helps if you drive straight from the shop floor. Wipe the steering wheel with a damp cloth once a week.

What if I only want the carpets done?
Carpet cleaning can be booked on its own. For a factory commute car the driver side carpet is usually the dirtiest part of the cabin.
