Window tinting for new cars in Kharkhoda
With IMT Kharkhoda growing, more new cars are on its roads every month. Get the right legal film on yours before the first summer, fitted at our Sonipat studio.
A new car and its first summer
Kharkhoda has changed fast. The industrial area and the new car plant have brought jobs, and with them a lot of fresh cars on the road towards Sonipat and Rohtak. Many of their owners are only now finding out how hot a closed car gets in a Haryana summer.
Window film is easiest to fit when the car is new. The glass is clean, there is no old adhesive to remove and the dashboard has not yet started to fade. A few hours at the studio and the car is ready for its first May.
Check the dealer film before you accept it
Some dealers offer sun film as part of an accessory pack at delivery. That can be fine, but ask what film it is and what VLT each window will have. Cheap dyed film is often sold as heat control film.
If the shade looks dark from outside, it may not meet the legal limit. It is much easier to say no at the showroom than to peel it off after a challan.

Choosing a film type
All three can be fitted in legal shades on a new car.
| Film | Heat control | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Dyed | Modest. Absorbs heat in the dye and can fade over time. | Tight budgets and cars kept under cover |
| Carbon | Good. Blocks a fair share of infrared and holds its colour. | Daily drives on the Sonipat Rohtak road |
| Ceramic | Best. Rejects the most infrared while staying light. | Cars parked in the open at work or in the fields |
The legal limits on every window
Under CMVR Rule 100, the windscreen and rear glass need at least 70 percent visible light transmission and the side windows at least 50 percent. Factory glass already cuts some light, so the film has to be light to stay inside that limit.
We fit only legal shades. Kharkhoda's long, straight roads are bright in the afternoon and very dark at night, and a light film handles both. A dark one makes the night drive back from Rohtak harder than it needs to be.
Small things that help film last
A new film can last for years if the first few weeks go right.
Windows up for the first days
Keep the glass closed for 3 to 5 days, longer in cold weather, while the adhesive cures.
No dry wiping
Kharkhoda grit on a dry cloth can scratch the film. Use a damp microfibre cloth instead.
Ammonia-free cleaner
Ammonia-based glass sprays can cloud the film slowly.
Mind the seatbelt
A metal buckle swinging against the side glass can nick the film.
Booking from Kharkhoda
Most owners plan the trip to Sonipat around a day off.

Fitting
We clean the glass, fit and squeegee the film and check every window. It takes a few hours.
Other first jobs for a new car
Many new car owners combine film with ceramic coating in Kharkhoda, so road grit and dust rinse off the paint more easily, or PPF for the front of the car. Current rates are on the price list.
Questions people ask
Should I get film from the dealer or fit it later?
Either works if the film is good and the shade is legal. Ask the dealer for the film type and VLT. If they cannot tell you, it is better to fit it later with someone who can.
Does window film affect my new car warranty?
Film is fitted on the inside of the glass and does not touch any electrical parts or seals. It should not affect the car warranty, but check your warranty booklet if you are unsure.
Is there a DetailingRider studio in Kharkhoda?
No, Kharkhoda cars come to our Sonipat studio, about 30 km away. Pickup and drop can be arranged on request.
How dark can I go on the side windows?
The side windows must keep at least 50 percent visible light. That is a light shade, not a dark one, and we will not fit anything below it.
Can I wash the car normally after the film is fitted?
Yes, the film is on the inside so outside washing is not affected. Just avoid rolling the windows down for the first few days.
Will dust from the fields get under the film later?
No. Once the film has cured, the edges are sealed to the glass. Dust only gets trapped if the glass was not cleaned properly before fitting.
Do you fit film for people who work at the IMT Kharkhoda units?
Yes. Many come in on a weekly off or a Saturday. Book a morning slot and the car is usually ready by the afternoon.
