Interior detailing for Rai cars
Leather that has dried out in factory parking, vents full of industrial dust and a back seat after a term of school runs. Our Sonipat studio, about 12 km from Rai, sorts all three.
Two kinds of car in Rai
Rai has two sides. There is the HSIIDC industrial estate, where owners and managers drive SUVs and sedans with leather seats that sit in an open lot all day. And there are the families around the schools and colleges, whose cars do the morning drop, the afternoon pickup and the tuition run in between.
Both cabins need cleaning for different reasons. The factory car has fine metallic dust in the vents and leather that the summer sun is slowly drying out. The school car has juice in the seat belt buckles, crayon on the door pads and a smell from a lunch box that rolled under the seat in May.
There is no DetailingRider studio in Rai. Cars come to our Sonipat studio, about 12 km up NH-44, which is close enough to drop the car on the way to work.
Leather seats that live in a hot car park
Leather looks tough but it dries out like skin. Long afternoons in a parked car in Rai heat pull the moisture out of it, and the fine dust from the estate sits in the grain and rubs against it every time you get in. First the colour fades on the bolsters, then small cracks appear.
We clean leather with a pH-balanced cleaner and a soft brush, working the dirt out of the grain and the stitching, then wipe it off and apply a conditioner. It leaves the leather soft and matte, not shiny or slippery.
Perforated and ventilated seats need extra care, because liquid in the holes can reach the fans underneath. We use very little product on those and work it with a brush rather than spraying.

The school run checklist
On family cars that do the daily school drop, these are the parts we always clean.
Child seat area
We remove the child seat if fitted, clean the base, the seat under it and the anchor points.
Seat belt buckles
Sticky drinks get inside the buckle. We clean it so it clicks cleanly again.
Back of the front seats
Shoe marks and scuffs from little feet cleaned off the seat backs and pockets.
Rear floor
Crumbs, stationery and wrappers vacuumed out from under the seats.
Odour
Food and milk smells treated with an enzyme cleaner once the source is cleaned out.
Fabric or leather in a Rai car
The care is different, and so is what goes wrong.
| Fabric seats | Leather seats | |
|---|---|---|
| Main problem | Stains and spills soak in | Drying out and cracking in heat |
| Our method | Steam and hot water extraction | Gentle clean, then conditioner |
| Ready in | Dry within a few hours | Ready when we finish |
| Between visits | Wipe spills quickly | Sunshade and a damp cloth wipe |
How the day works
Most people drop the car on the way in and collect it on the way back.

Drop on NH-44
Drive the 12 km to Sonipat in the morning, or ask about pickup and drop on request.
Clean
Three to five hours, from the roof liner down to the carpet.
Collect
The car is ready in the evening with the seats dry.
Factory dust in the vents and on the dashboard
Dust from the estate is finer and sharper than road dust. It gets behind the vent slats and into the cabin filter, and every morning the AC blows a little of it back out. We brush and steam each vent and finish the dashboard with a matte UV protectant that does not attract dust.
If the outside of the car is carrying the same fallout, take a look at car detailing for Rai. For glossy trims and screens that already show fine scratches, interior PPF is worth asking about. Rates are on the price list.
A sunshade on the windscreen does more for leather seats in a Rai summer than any spray you can buy.
Questions people ask
Is there a DetailingRider studio in Rai?
No. Rai cars are cleaned at our Sonipat studio, about 12 km up NH-44. Pickup and drop can be arranged on request.
Can cracked leather be repaired by cleaning?
Cleaning and conditioning stop cracks getting worse and improve the look, but they do not close cracks that are already there. Catching leather before it cracks is the real goal.
Do you clean ventilated seats?
Yes, carefully. We use very little liquid and work the cleaner in with a soft brush, so nothing reaches the fans under the seat.
Can you get crayon and pen marks off door pads?
Most of the time, yes. Crayon lifts off with a gentle cleaner and some patience. Ink depends on the material and how long it has been there.
Will you remove the child seat?
Yes, if you are happy for us to. We clean underneath and refit it the way it was, or you can take it out before you drop the car.
How often should a car parked in the estate be cleaned inside?
Every three to four months is a good rhythm for a car that sits in factory parking daily. Leather benefits from a quick wipe and conditioner in between, especially before and after the hottest months.
When are you open?
